During the past years, Stefan Wehrli has gathered a lot of knowledge and made many interesting discoveries. It has always been important for him to share his knowledge. But the course “The hoof inside out” and the WTS course had become too short for him to pass on this knowledge in detail. He then founded together with Dr. Christian Struchen and Julien Houser the WEPA (Wehrli Equine Podiatry Academy) in order to combine the concepts of the two courses and to ensure the quality of the education. For vets and farriers alike, the duration of the curriculum is two years, with three modules of two days each per year. Every theory lesson is followed by a practical session, so that what has been learned in the theory lesson can be put into practice directly thereafter.

After completing modules 1 and 2, you become a WTS vet/farrier. After completing all 6 modules and passing your final exams, you become a certified WEPA vet/farrier.

During every module, we organise an educational public evening where all other actors of the horse world can benefit from the WEPA. We aim to create a network of competent farriers, vets and riders who can then work together as a team towards helping the horse.
